Hotel Vendome Shows It's More Than Just A Place to Stay During 100th Anniversary Celebration

PRESCOTT- It has been 100 years to the month since the Vendome Hotel was built in downtown Prescott. Over the years, the owners may have changed but the charm and history of the iconic location never did. During the centennial celebration, individuals were reminded the spot can be enjoyed by both tourists and locals.
“We see ourselves as a spot for the community to come and enjoy evenings, even if you are not staying at the hotel,” Hotel Vendome Co-Owner Sonali Patel said. “A lot of people have told us that have passed by the hotel but have never been inside.”

“The open house was an opportunity to welcome people inside for the first time,” Patel continued.
According to the hotel’s official website, the Hotel Vendome was built in order to meet the demand of housing during the early 1900s when individuals moved out west for mining and the health benefits of Arizona’s climate. On its 100th birthday celebration, Patel wanted to transfer guests back to this time as Prescott Regulators and Shady Ladies wore the Victorian-era style clothes known for the early 1900s.

“We felt that would add to the excitement of the day and give people a feel of what is was back in the day when the hotel was built,” Patel said.
Patel was pleased with the response of the party and hoped it reminded individuals the hotel is more than just somewhere to stay, it is a social gathering place where one can spend an evening and enjoy a drink from the little-known gem of a bar inside.
“A lot of people, even without staying the night, will come have a drink,” Patel said. “Our porch is perfect to just enjoy a glass of wine and relax and soak in our lovely Prescott town.”

The hotel’s bar known as “BAR VENDOME” is open from 2pm-8pm Sunday through Thursday and 2 pm to 9 pm on Friday and Saturday. Various selections of beer and wine are available along with homemade Sangria or Mulled Wine based on the season.
