World’s Oldest Rodeo Receives Tourism Award From Governor Brewer

Governor Jan Brewer recognized the World's Oldest Rodeo at the 30th Annual Governor's Tourist Conference.

rodeoawardPrescott, AZ: The World’s Oldest Rodeo was recognized by Governor Jan Brewer on Tuesday, July 13 at the 30th Annual Governor’s Tourist Conference held at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, AZ.

The award was given to two recipients for special recognition for their impact affecting Arizona’s tourism industry.  The World’s Oldest Rodeo was one of the two that received the award this year.  The other recipient was the Tucson Rodeo Parade.

Awards were also given and presented for innovative promotions, green tourism, cooperative marketing, special events (rural and urban) and Arizona preservation.   Nominations were submitted for 10 different categories and the winners were selected based on general evaluation of qualifications, innovation, uniqueness and measurable results.

The award recognized the impact the Rodeo has on domestic and international attendees.
