Cable One Advertising’s Krista Witherow was recently honored for her work with MATForce and Granite Mountain Middle School on a 2009 commercial spot titled “Faces.”
The commercial was developed in conjunction with Granite Mountain Middle School Career Day. Cable One and students developed the 30-second video commercial using the theme of what youth do to stay “Above the Influence” of drugs or alcohol.
In the video, students challenge other youth to stay above the influence and not let others change who they are. Images of youth with their faces changing and becoming parts of other faces support the message.
The Partnership for a Drug-Free America implemented the “Above the Influence” theme, which is used by MATForce in their youth anti-drug education projects.
According to Shannon Vialpando of Cable One Advertising, “The Telly Awards annually showcases the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. The Telly Awards is a widely known and highly respected national and international competition and receives over 11,000 entries annually from all 50 states and many foreign countries.”
Vialpando said, “This is a huge honor for us and we are so happy that we won with theGranite Mountain spot.”
MATForce Executive Director Merilee Fowler said, “We commend Cable One Advertising for being such an outstanding media partner and bringing a positive message to students about their personal choice to stay away from drug or alcohol abuse.”

They have helped raise student’s awareness about the effects substance abuse in a very positive manner.”
