The Yavapai County Annual Meeting and Member Appreciation dinner took place on August 10, 2019 to celebrate its members and another successful year of the Yavapai County Farm Bureau. This year the YCFB held two Ag Matters Speaker Series, reached over 13,000 students with its Ag in the Classroom Program in the county, and helped support buyers’ BBQs at the local fairs and expos. This all happened just at the county level! Much more has been accomplished at the state level thanks to all choosing to be members.
Arizona Farm Bureau President, Stefanie Smallhouse spoke at the meeting, bringing greetings from the state level and sharing the wins of the organization over the last year. In addition to hearing from Stefanie, Jack Smith - USDA Rural Development Director for AZ spoke about opportunities for those in Yavapai County from the USDA.
Arizona Farm Bureau’s Ag in the Classroom Director, Katie Aikins, showed off her newly developed water presentation booth to highlight the type of education programs we provide in Yavapai County and across the state.
Congratulations to Barbara Predmore for receiving the Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award. We could not think of a more deserving person for this award. Barbara gave many years of leadership, support and service to the Yavapai County Viticulture community and the Yavapai County Farm Bureau.
The 2019-2021 Yavapai County Farm Bureau Board was elected into office at the meeting. The YCFB president, Sharla Mortimer, led a wonderful meeting and dinner program, giving profound remarks about all the county accomplished over the last year.
Thank you to everyone for attending the Yavapai County Annual Meeting and Membership Appreciation Dinner. We had a wonderful turn out.
