Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona to Open Prescott Club for Essential Services Families

In response to the global pandemic around COVID-19 and the resulting school district closures, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona (BGCCAZ) will temporarily serve families who work in essential service sectors of the community.  These sectors include medical and healthcare, telecommunications, information technology systems, defense, food and agriculture, transportation and logistics, energy, water and wastewater, law enforcement, and public works.

The Essential Services Program is a unique program designed to serve the needs of those providing essential services for our community and who do not have an option for their child to remain safely at home or with a trusted care provider. This program will take place exclusively at our Prescott location, with capacity on a first come, first serve basis.

“Our team is pleased to be able to serve our community during this time of hardship by providing youth development programming to our essential services families. Despite the increase in costs, we realize the unique opportunity for our local Boys & Girls Clubs to serve our community in a fundamental way, as we plan to be part of the solution in navigating this unchartered time together,” according to Nicole Kennedy, Executive Director.

Families who would like to participate during this session are required to register their children (ages 6-18) for this special programming.  Applications can be downloaded from the website at and must be submitted and confirmed prior to arrival at Club.

BGCCAZ will continue to operate as long as we are able to provide a safe environment for our members and staff and we will be following all CDC guidelines for health and safety.  We are closely monitoring the situation to remain up to date with local, state and federal recommendations, and following CDC’s recommended precautions to maintain a clean and safe Clubhouse.
