Weather Discussion:

There will be no weather this week J. However, looking out of my window right now, I do see some grey, globular fuzzy things that I think might be clouds. These are associated with a minor surge of moisture from the south ahead of a weak trough of low pressure. No precipitation is expected with this system, although southerlies gusting to 20 kt today will switch to light northeasterly tomorrow. Breezier conditions are possible from Thursday through the weekend. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper seventies, with some low eighties on Wednesday, then cooling again into the weekend.

Additional notes for the weather nuts out there:

Maximum temperatures on sunny, windy days vary according to elevation. For every 1,000 feet of elevation gain, high temperatures decrease by around 5.4 degrees Fahrenheit. Driving from Prescott at 5,000 ft elevation to somewhere in the Phoenix area at 2,000 ft elevation, expect afternoon temperatures to warm by about 16 degrees F.  Averaged over all times of day, the temperature variation with altitude is less, at 3.6 F per 1,000 ft.

Have another wonderful week,
