Certificates of Completion were awarded to over 100 students.

On May 17th, the Mountain Institute Joint Technical Educational District (MIJTED) hosted their Career and Technical Education Awards Ceremony at the Performing Arts Center at Yavapai College. Certificates of Completion were given to over 100 outstanding students who have risen above their peers to prepare themselves for their careers. Each has completed a JTED program that results in industry-recognized credentials or leads to certifications and degrees as they pursue their career goals. Congratulations to these amazing students and to their parents who supported and encouraged them along the way. These students came from member districts Ash Fork High School, Bradshaw Mountain High School, Chino Valley High School, Seligman High School, Trinity Christian, Canyon View Prep Academy, Tri City Prep, Prescott High School and Mayer High School. Certificates were earned in numerous categories, including Automotive, Pre-Engineering, Welding, Aviation, Medical Assisting, Nursing Services, Culinary and Education Professions.

Supervisor Brown and his wife, Sandi, support this endeavor through a scholarship and award program and were thrilled to be able to provide financial awards to 9 students and scholarships to 2 students.

Near the conclusion of the evening MIJTED Board Chair Maxine Howington, gave an impassioned and eloquent presentation about Superintendent Jeramy Plumb, awarding him the “Superman Award”, on behalf of the Governing Board for his exceptional work in getting statewide JTED funding restored. With Rep. Karen Fann and Noel Campbell leading the way from the front row, the entire assembly provided Jeramy an enthusiastic standing ovation.
