Prescott High School Seniors Celebrate Graduation with Governor Ducey
Featured

28 May 2016

Over 350 students put on their caps and gowns Friday night as their last official act at Prescott High School.

The theme of the 2016 graduation was, "Behind us are memories, beside us are friends, before us are dreams that will never end."

Dressed in the Badger blue, this year's students had the opportunity to hear an address from Governor Doug Ducey - who spoke at only one other high school's graduation this year. Ducey words matched the theme perfectly, as he spoke of things that happened in the year that most of the students were born, such as President Bill Clinton's impeachment, Y2K and the first Harry Potter book was released. He spoke then of current affairs and the opportunities and challenges facing these students.

Ducey told them, "You have the opportunity to be our next greatest generation... Do it!"

Ducey was introduced by the Student Body Vice President, Kolby Hunter. Here is the video of Governor Ducey's address:

Governor Ducey then shook hands with each of the graduates as they filed by to collect their diplomas.

Afterwards, the students tossed their caps while fireworks lit the skies.
