Horse Show at Yavapai College Chino Valley Center April 2

(Chino Valley, AZ – March 25, 2016) – The public is invited to attend an all-breed, multi-discipline horse show at the Yavapai College Chino Valley Agribusiness and Science Center (2275 Old Home Manor Road in Chino Valley) on Saturday, April 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking and admission is free.

The students and faculty involved with the Equine program at Yavapai College have partnered with the Arizona Agribusiness and Equine Center (AAEC) in presenting the event.

“It’s great to have the equine students and faculty putting on horse shows again,” said Dr. Karla Phillips, dean of the Yavapai College Chino Valley Center. “This is an excellent opportunity for the students to get hands-on experience in many aspects of our program. This one is even more exciting, because we’re partnering with the AAEC Equine Charter School students and faculty.”

According to its website, the AAEC’s mission is to prepare young adults for success by promoting lifelong learning through rigorous academic instruction, promoting social responsibility and employability, and providing motivated students with the opportunity to earn college credits while completing their high school requirements.

Horsemanship instructor at AAEC Monty Soto said "The AAEC is very excited to expand its working relationship with Yavapai College by joining with them to produce a public horse show. With students and faculty from both schools working together, the horse show will be a great success."

Food and drink concessions will be available for purchase. Seating and shade is limited, so attendees are asked to consider bringing chairs and umbrellas. For more information about the event, contact Vicki LaBelle at 928-848-8722.
