Washington School's New Role

04 May 2018

At 115, Washington School is not too old to take on a new role within the Prescott Unified School District.

The school doors were first opened on September 1, 1903. Now Washington School is being repurposed into the District Administration offices.

By the way,  it’s still a school - Discovery Gardens Early Childhood Center also operates at this location.

"I just want to thank the community," Superintendent Joe Howard said. "This was their vision and I think they’re excited about it. We put this big sign up and I stood back with my team, and said, 'You know, that’s going to be here when we’re gone.' That’s nice to be thinking about a legacy. Because this building is nothing but a legacy."
