The Sharlot Haul

03 October 2012

The Sharlot Haul 2012 now  it's the 2013.

UPDATE: Due to the inclement weather, this event has been postponed until March 2013.

As a Prescott resident, who is raising my family, and operating a downtown business for several years, I am very aware of the cultural and economic impact of Sharlot Hall Museum.  The museum is, in fact, an economic partner and provides a glimpse into our past and a destination for touristss and families in Prescott.

Sharlot Hall Museum is not just for tourists, it's a place where our children go to learn about our town, state and country.  As a community, it is time to come together and show our support and encouragement for the preservation and future of this unique Prescott treasure.

Over the past several months, El Gato Azul has taken the lead in creating a fun / fundraising bicycle event called "The Sharlot Haul."

Bicycle Riders of all levels are invited to participate in this event, and with five rides of various difficulty, there is truly something for everyone!  Select Thumb Butte, Granite Basin, Lynx Lake, Goldwater, or head out to Wilhoit for the road ride.

This is not a race however.  After registering on line and selecting their trail, riders can complete their rides between 6 and 11am on the 10th.  Volunteers will be at each trail head to provide assistance, and give each rider their "goodie" bag, souvenir T-shirt and flag for raffle entry once they have completed the ride.

Meanwhile, a traditional BBQ Buffet provided by Jube's BBQ awaits riders and non-riders alike on the grounds of Sharlot Hall Museum.

With music provided by local favorites, Salt of the Earth and Cheek 2 Cheek, raffles, and displays, the afternoon is a great way to enjoy the fall weather, and support the Sharlot Hall Musuem.

Marquee sponsors include the Prescott Yavapai Indian Tribe, El Gato Azul, Hensley Beverages, and Chainbreaker White IPA.

Additional Community sponsors include; PAI, Prescott Area Independents, Windermere Real Estate, High Gear Bike Shop, KPPV, Prescott's Hometown Radio Group, Spring Hill Suites, Sites by Beth, Epic Rides, Action Wine & Spirits, Lloyd's Liquor, Quail Distributing, Manzanita Outdoors, eNewsAZ and more to follow.

Cost of the event for riders is $25.00, and non riders is $18.00.

Sponsorships are still available at all levels from $250.00 to $5,000.00.  All sponsors will receive a maximum of media coverage, including print, radio, TV, internet, banner placement, and logos on souvenir T-shirts.  Major sponsors must be confirmed by 10/8/21 to receive all sponsor benefits.  (sponsor information available at
