CYMPO to hold planning workshop Monday morning

The Central Yavapai Metropolitan Planning Organization Executive Board will be doing some strategic planning.  The Board will be holding a planning workshop at 10 Monday morning at the Prescott Centennial Center on Clubhouse Drive.  The workshop will start with a discussion on the importance of strategic planning and a vision and mission review.  Organization staff will then make a presentation on “The World Within Which We Are Planning,” a context for a Strategic Plan.  Following a lunch break, Plan priorities will be discussed followed by a Central Yavapai Executive Board meeting at 1.  The Board, which is chaired by Yavapai County Supervisor Craig Brown, will be joined by the Organization Technical Advisory Committee, chaired by Chino Valley Public Works Director Michael Lopez, for the planning meeting.

Expansion in Prescott Valley

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Arizona’s Prescott Valley facility and the Prescott Valley Police Department building are expanding.  Last night the Prescott Valley Town Council approved an agreement with Stroh Architecture for design of the Boys and Girls Clubs on Loos Drive.  Deputy Town Manager Ryan Judy says this 5 thousand square foot expansion is something the Town has been looking at for some time. During a live appearance on Thursday’s Q and A show with host DJ Fone on KQNA 1130 AM, 99.9 FM and 95.5 FM, Clubs Director Gerald Szostak explained the Town of Prescott Valley is helping absorb some of the costs. Stroh Architecture is also working on the design of a 12 thousand square foot addition to the Police Department facility on Civic Circle.  Architect Doug Stroh explains construction documents should go out in about 6 weeks. Stroh says they are looking at a free standing building rather than building on the current one. Design on the Boys and Girls Clubs facility is getting started right away, with construction expected to start this summer.
