Dog Show Continues at PV Event Center on Sunday

Dog Show This Weekend at Prescott Valley Event Center Sept 18th - 20th

The Prescott Arizona Kennel Club is presenting an All-Breed Dog Show, Obedience, and Rally Trials at the Prescott Valley Events Center, where favorite furry friends are “struttin’ their stuff” for the judges. There are almost 1000 entries of “man’s best friend” looking their finest and behaving their best, and their owners and handlers hoping for the ultimate prize of “Best in Show.”

The Prescott Valley Event Center was chosen for the convenience of the location, as it is close to hotels and restaurants, and because the Event Center has the capacity to hold the show indoors, making it more comfortable for show participants and their dogs. Admission is free, Parking $5.

Obedience and was featured on Friday the 18th, and today, Saturday, the 19th, the “Best Bred-By-Exhibitor” Competition took place. Also on Saturday, concurrent with the “Best Bred” show, Basenji Fanciers of Greater Phoenix presented their breed and the Arizona RodesianRidgeback Club, and the Chihuahua Club of Greater Phoenix were supported entries.

Obedience and Rally Trials will be held on Sunday the 20th with the Basenji Fanciers of Greater Phoenix as the supported entry.

The AKC National Owner-Handled Series to be held on Saturday and Sunday.

Sporting Breeds, Hounds, Working Breeds, Terrier Breeds, Toy and Non-Sporting Breeds, Herding Breeds and Miscellaneous Class will be judged.

If you love seeing puppies, there will be Puppy, Bred-By-Exhibitor for each of the Miscellaneous Breeds in each sex.

In addition to the show itself, there are other interesting displays and areas to visit. You can see the pampered pooches being groomed to perfection in the special grooming areas, visit the many vendors offering the best and latest in grooming equipment, and every kind of product to tempt dog owners, including kennels, toys, jewelry, special treats and more. Also, in the parking lot a be sure to visit the new Arizona Humane Society’s AKC Pet Disaster Relief Trailer, which will provide a safe temporary home for pets after a disaster.
