'FOR SALE BY OWNER' Sellers Beware

Several incidents have occurred in the Prescott Valley area where unidentified suspects have targeted homes with “For Sale by Owner” signs posted in front of them. The suspects gain entry by contacting the owners and saying they are interested in the home.  While one suspect distracts the homeowner in conversation, another suspect wanders through the home.  When the suspects leave, the homeowner discovers that valuables have been stolen from the home.

Witnesses have given similar descriptions in each incident. One suspect is described as a male in his mid-20s, approximately 6’2” tall, with olive complexion. A second suspect is described as a male in his mid-50s, approximately 5’10” tall, also with olive complexion.  A third suspect is a female in her mid-20s, approximately 5’ tall, with a thin build and dark hair.

The vehicle described is a newer model “fire engine red” four-door pickup truck, possibly a Nissan, with no body damage or other identifying characteristics.

The public is asked to notify the Prescott Valley Police Department with any information concerning these incidents.

Prescott Valley Police Department can be contacted at (928) 772-9267 for non-emergencies, 911 for emergencies; or Silent Witness at 1 (800) 932-3232.
