Baby Lemur Calls HPZS Home

A new baby lemur will now call Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary his home! The Arizona Game & Fish Department recently contacted us regarding the permanent housing of a young lemur who was found living on the streets with his owner. He arrived a little over a month ago and so far is happy with his new home and lemur friends!

In celebration of this little guy finding a happy, permanent home within our sanctuary, we’re going to be running a naming contest poll on our social media pages in the coming week. Starting on Monday, February 13 and going through Friday, March 17, we’ll be running online polls on both our Facebook and Twitter pages. Find these posts and vote for your favorite name. The final four choices are down to: Oliver, Pogo, Spock, and Theo. We’ll tally the votes from both platforms on Friday at 4:00 pm.

Please find a write-up with all information on our new resident as well as further details on the naming contest. I’ve also included a few photos of our furry friend. Please share so we can get as much of the community involved with this as possible. If you’d like any further information on this situation, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

HPZS, everybody’s hometown zoo!
