Prescott Area Young Professionals' Party In The Pines Sees Attendance Boost In 2017

PRESCOTT- Since moving to Phoenix from Prescott, Robert Evans uses the Party in The Pines as a chance to come back and enjoy some local beer with friends.

“See good friends (and) Prescott is very lovely this time of year,” said Evans who attended Party In The Pines for the second time on Saturday. "I love the beer vendors….supporting the local breweries.”

The annual Party In The Pines is a fundraiser put on by the Prescott Area Young Professionals to support local non-profit organizations, this year being the Prescott Unified School District Foundation, and featured fifty beer vendors, six food trucks and live music for people to enjoy.

“i feel like this year we finally figured it out, we found our niche,” said Prescott Area Young Professionals Marketing Chair Megan Smith who mentioned the event has gone through a number of changes in the past seven years of operation. “Good music, local food and beer-that’s all we’re aiming for.”

One of those changes mentioned is the move to Prescott Mile High Middle School the previous year after the venue became to big for the Park Place Plaza. After a dip in attendance during 2016, the event rebounded in 2017 as over a thousand people attended.

“It’s been amazing,” said Smith who mentioned the online pre-sale tickets doubled from 2016. “We’ve had a constant flow at the gate.”

The numbers definitely did not go unnoticed by those who attended.

“It looks a little bigger this year,” said Evans. “I think it’s a great event and I hope it continues on.”

Smith said the success of the event is a testament to the volunteers and support of local businesses.
