New Frontier Days Rodeo Court Named for 2018 Festivities

2018 Rodeo Court Royalty Naming Marks End of 2017 Prescott Frontier Days World's Oldest Rodeo

PRESCOTT- After months of essays, interviews and pageants, the rodeo court for the 2018 Prescott Frontier Days World’s Oldest Rodeo was named.

Heritage Middle School student Carlee David will be the junior court representative, while Chino Valley High School sophomore Morgan Reid was honored with the senior court nomination. Sarah Grant, who also goes to Chino Valley High School, was selected to be the Prescott Frontier Days Rodeo Queen.

“So grateful and relieved that these ten weeks are over,” Grant said. “I am so relieved and so excited that I put so much work into it and won the title.”

Each girl who won was competing for the first time.

“I don’t even have words to say,” said Reid. “I worked so hard to become a senior court.”

Along with other competitors for the prestigious honor, the girls received prized based on various categories such as best essay and nicest contestant. The final honor was the naming of the court.

“I was really worried that I wouldn’t get it,” David said. “I was confident but then again I was worried.”

The members of the 2017 court crowned the court for the 2018 festivities. The girls will begin each show in the 2018 Prescott Frontier Days and at the end of the rodeo, crown the 2019 winners.


Meanwhile, the naming of the 2018 Prescott Frontier Days World’s Oldest Rodeo court marks an end to the 2017 festivities and competition.

Evan Jayne won the bareback riding at 85.5 points and takes home the $5,640 grand prize.

Sterling Crawley from Stephenville, Texas topped the saddle bronc riding at 86 points to win $4,907.
