Grammy-Nominated Nashville Songwriter and an “Achingly Beautiful” Artist, Together at Elks Theatre In September Presented by The Folk Sessions

Sally Barris and Rebecca Folsom are performing solo and together at the Elks Theatre on 117 E. Gurley Street in Prescott at 7pm Saturday, September 16th, which promises to deliver an exceptional evening of women in song.

Together, their shared accomplishments are many such as Nashville songwriting success, a Grammy nomination, and topping the Americana and College radio charts.

In addition, the two have played the highest caliber national and international venues and was voted best of BBC television and radio.

Sally Barris is an A-list Nashville songwriter who has had songs covered by such top-level artists as Kathy Mattea, Martina McBride, and Lee Ann Womack. Her song "Let the Wind Chase You", recorded by Trisha Yearwood and Keith Urban, received a Grammy nomination in 2009.

"Sally Barris knows how to write lyrics that are as forthright as a stream of clear," Dirty Linen said.

While Barris' writing credits mightily impress, fans and peers are most captivated by her bright spirit and expressive mountain soprano. The Minnesota-native has performed at Mountain Stage, New Bedford Summer Fest, Wildflower Arts & Music Festival and The Kerrville Folk Festival.

Meanwhile, Rebecca Folsom's world-class voice covers a near-four-octave range. KUNC Radio describes it as "knock-you-to-your-knees." The Daily Camera describes her music as "shining...with lush harmonies," and Westword Magazine says, "Her songs hit like little earthquakes!"

High Plains Radio said, "Lush harmonies, great acoustic music and a lot of sass and attitude. Rebecca Folsom is sweet one minute, and rebellious and smart the next."

Folsom's newest CD, "Extraordinary Days", hit number fiive on the national Folk DJ chart while the song "Better Times" was named number one Best Folk song. The CD has remained in the Top Forty on National Americana Country radio charts since its debut. National Radio has called it "Stunning" and "Spectacular."

The Folk Sessions may well be one of the most eclectic radio shows in America.

The Broadcast has been featured throughout Central & Northern Arizona for over 14 years on the KJAZZ Radio Network and Prescott Public Radio, part of the Arizona Community Radio Network. The Folk Sessions has established a loyal following, producing quality radio programs and live concerts.
