Did you miss the 2018 Veteran’s Day Parade in Prescott this year?

About 85 floats and entries came through the Prescott streets on Saturday to celebrate and honor veterans for their service to our country. This year is the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, when the Allies of World War I signed the temporary agreement with Germany to cease hostilities. The Treaty of Versailles, a formal peace agreement, was signed the following year.

The theme of the Veteran’s Day Parade this year was, "Honoring Hometown Heroes," with a special focus on Ernest A. Love, a WWI pilot who was shot down and later died during his service to our country. The Prescott Regional Airport is named after him.

The opening ceremonies took place before the parade began, with Senate President-elect Karen Fann acting as the Master of Ceremonies (18 minutes):
