Burglary  leads to multiple arrests; List of guns still being sought.

On 06/06/2019 a home in the 800 block of Judy Ave in Chino Valley caught fire. The resident of the home was unable to occupy it and left items inside the home until their insurance company could assess the damage.

On 06/10/2019 the resident returned to their home and discovered 32 firearms were stolen from their residence. Some of the firearms were damaged by the fire, others were not. A list of the stolen firearms were sent out to local agencies. Chino Valley Police Department was waiting on a list of serial numbers from the victim to enter them as stolen.

On 06/20/2019 a Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Detective contacted a Chino Valley Police Department Detective. The YCSO Detective believed the weapon used by Johnathan Rice in commission of the homicide of Aneesa Williams may have been one of the stolen weapons.

The victim was contacted and provided serial numbers for 24 of the stolen guns. The victim also reported an additional 8 firearms as stolen for a total of 40. The gun Johnathan used was identified as one of the stolen firearms.

Chino Valley Police Department Detectives responded to the Camp Verde Jail and interviewed Johnathan Rice. Johnathan told them he had purchased the firearm from Cassie Hall.

Officers responded to the area of Grasshopper Lane and HoHokam Drive and made contact with Cassie Hall, Clint Gregory and Kyra Craft. While contacting Kyra, Officers noticed she placed something in her pocket. It was later discovered Kyra had placed Methamphetamine in her pocket. Kyra was taken into custody for possession of dangerous drugs and transported to the Chino Valley Police Department.

Officers received consent and searched the residence of Cassie Hall. No firearms were located.

Kyra Craft gave officers consent to view her cell phone contents. Officers discovered messages between Kyra Craft and others soliciting attempts to sell firearms and pictures of a few of the stolen firearms.

Officers returned to the area of Grasshopper Lane and Hohokam Drive and contacted Clint Gregory. Clint Gregory admitted to him and Cassie unlawfully entering the residence in the 800 block of Judy Avenue and taking some of the firearms. Clint and Cassie were taken into custody. During a search incident to arrest counterfeit money was located in Clint’s pocket.

Clint Gregory and Cassie Hall were transported back to Chino Valley Police Department. Cassie denies selling a firearm to Johnathan Rice. All other firearms Clint Gregory and Cassie Hall stole were traded or sold.
