Late Saturday afternoon slowly rolled into evening as suds were poured and the music thrummed on the air. The 8th Annual Mile High Brewfest featured 26 different breweries all providing tastings to event attendees and participating in contest for the best craft beer. With their entry into the event, attendees were given several drink tasting tickets to try the different brews. Several food trucks provided much needed nourishment for those who were ready to take a break and snag some tasty eats for dinner.
The Mile High Brewfest isn’t just an event to take in some brews and food while enjoying lively music. It is also a major annual fundraiser for The Boys and Girls Club. For 8 years, this event has proudly been able to boast that 100% of the event proceeds goes into the foundation. In past years, the Mile High Brewfest has raised approximately $35-40 thousand!
The music for the brewfest was provided by local bands Scandalous Hands and The Cheektones. The craft beers were judged by the Whiskey Row Brew Club and shortly before The Cheektones took the stage the winners were announced. Third place was taken by Sierra Nevada with their Oktoberfest, second was Barrio Brewing with their Hazy IPA. First place was taken by MotherRoad with their IPA, and Best in Show was claimed by Mudshark with their Sour.
In all, attendees had a great time enjoying delicious craft brews. Those who attended but opted not to drink were treated to several specialty non-alcoholic beverages along with a majorly discounted entry fee to the event. VIP tickets had access to special brews as well as a taco bar in the VIP Tent. All who attended were treated to wonderful music and a great event in the 8th Annual Mile High Brewfest.
