Prescott: Business License Requirement Discontinued
Featured

06 December 2019

Prescott Business Licenses have been discontinued.

The City of Prescott did something this year almost unheard of. Where most government entities are looking for ways to increase taxes and fees, the City of Prescott has discontinued the requirement for Business License requirements and fees.

On September 24, 2019, the City voted to eliminate the existing requirements for Business Licenses under an emergency clause, which meant it took effect immediately.

The email sent out on December 5 read:

Dear Sir or Madam,

PLEASE NOTE- Effective September 24, 2019 the City of Prescott discontinued the business license requirement. Your current city business license will no longer need to be renewed.

If you have an existing Transaction Privilege Tax (“TPT”) license you will be required to continue to renew with the Arizona Department of Revenue. For assistance with renewing your TPT license please call 602-255-3381 or visit www.aztaxes.gov

Thank you,

Tax & Licensing Division
