Fresh Food Boxes for May 16th
How was your pick up experience last week? We thought it was the best week yet! With our earlier pick up hours from 8:00am to 12:00pm everything stayed a little cooler and fresher. Each week we have been fine tuning our process and with the help of some phenomenal volunteers (as seen below) were able to significantly cut wait times and fulfill orders efficiently. We hope you have a great experience picking up your orders from us each week; we sure enjoy seeing you!
You will notice that all of our staff and volunteers will be wearing masks. Rest assured that each of us take the health of our community very seriously. We know that the masks might make it more challenging to hear what we say, but we will try to speak up. We are smiling underneath the fabric! Check out these smiling eyes of some of our incredibly dedicated and hard working volunteers! We couldn't bring fresh food to you without them!
And a big thanks to YOU! We truly appreciate those who added a "tip" last week. Continuing to do so helps ensure we can operate and bring you the online store. To help offset the transaction fees associated with this new online store program, please consider adding a 3% "tip" to your order. We're a nonprofit organization and operating this online store costs us more than $3,000 a month in transaction fees alone. If you can afford to help in this small way, we'd really appreciate it!
Additional points to remember:
After placing your online order you will receive a confirmation email. Check your Junk/Spam folder if you don't receive it shortly after ordering. If you still do not have that confirmation, that means your order did not go through! Please refresh your browser and try placing the order again. If you require assistance please contact us at 928-713-1227. Please keep your email confirmation handy, either printed out or on your phone, for your pick up on Saturday to help us ensure you leave with your complete order.
• Pick-up time is between 8:00am and 12:00pm in the main lot at Yavapai College. The two lines move steadily and customers are in and out well within 10 minutes!
• Make plans to meet up with friends or vendors or walk your dog outside of the main lot. We need to keep the area clear, organized and safe.
• Please practice safe and attentive driving! Look for signs, cones and staff/volunteers giving you directions.
To help the loading process go smoother, please:
• Have a space in your vehicle that is clear and ready for your order. We are experiencing a shortage of paper bags so please set up a box where we can place any loose items you've purchased.
• If your order contains plants, bring an extra empty box, crate or container to help keep them from tipping over.
• Have your return kombucha, milk and empty flattened boxes from previous orders ready to drop-off.
• Ensure your dog will remain secure once the vehicle is open.
Do you want to contact vendors to place orders for items not in our online store, make bulk purchases, or to send them a "thank you"? Visit our vendor page to see a full listing of vendors. Click on each one to find their phone number, email, website, social media, etc.
We would love to hear what you think of our modified market! Reach us on social media or send us an email and let us know how we are doing!
"Feed Your Neighbors”
We say this every week, and will continue to do so because it is important- this community is one of caring, kind and generous people who want to take care of each other and I feel confident that we'll get through this together. Our community does have an immediate and ever growing need, and we want to feed as many people as we can. A donation to “Feed Your Neighbors” helps us get fresh vegetables, fresh bread, and fresh eggs to those in our community that need it most. Your donation is two-fold, because it also supports those farmers, ranchers, producers so that they can keep their businesses running and families cared for.
We anticipate the call for community assistance through our "Feed Your Neighbors" program will continue to grow through the summer and later into the year. With foresight, we established the option for recurring monthly donations, so that with minimal set up, donors can ensure their funds are automatically withdrawn each month and go directly to the program to immediately be put to use. Donors receive an acknowledgement summary for their tax records. PFM is a 501(c)(3) Qualifying Charitable Organization, meaning Arizona taxpayers can receive a dollar for dollar tax credit for donations up to $400 for an individual and $800 for a married couple.
Please consider a monthly recurring donation to our "Feed Your Neighbors” program; we cannot maintain the ever-growing urgency for feeding our neighbors in need without you! Your ongoing support will keep this community’s local food system thriving by ensuring that we have the resources we need to act quickly, evolve, and innovate to deliver food to the Prescott community each and every day.
