Road construction work in Dexter neighborhood.
Watch for delays in Prescott’s Dexter neighborhood due to road construction work. Crews are preparing the subgrade and laying base course along Sonora Drive in advance of chip sealing operations. Sonora is temporarily open to through traffic; however drivers should be aware of heavy equipment and flagging operations. On Dameron Drive, crews will be removing the existing roadway and performing asphalt paving operations from Comfort Avenue to the Brannen Avenue intersection. Crews will also be installing concrete sidewalks and curb and gutter. Dameron is closed to through traffic but personnel will accommodate access for local businesses and residents. Other work taking place as part of the Dexter Neighborhood Improvement Project includes concrete work on Comfort Avenue and utility installation along Campbell and Lincoln Avenues. Work hours are 7 am to 6 pm today through Friday.
Back to school events for Humboldt Unified School District.
Back to school events are being held in the Humboldt Unified School District tomorrow before classes get underway this Monday. Coyote Springs Elementary is hosting a Kindergarten Parent Orientation at 4 in the Gym. A meet and greet event will follow at 5. Class assignments and student schedules will be available at this time, as will transportation backpack tags. Granville, Humboldt and Lake Valley’s Meet the Teacher Nights run from 4:30 to 6. At 6 tomorrow night, Liberty Traditional School will host a Back to School Night for Kindergarten through 4th Grade students. Homeroom lists will be posted on classroom windows and there will be booths featuring the Parent-Teacher Organization, fingerprinting and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Back to School Night for 5th through 8th Grade students is Friday at 6.
