Saturday is the Home Opener for the Roughriders

The Roughrider Baseball team will have their home opener on Saturday. 

It was a tough day on Friday in Henderson, Nevada for the Roughriders, but Saturday is a fresh start. 

The Roughrider baseball team dropped a pair of games Friday in Henderson, Nevada. YC fell to College of Southern Idaho in the opener, 7-6, and dropped the nightcap, 13-3. YC is now 3-6 overall.

With YC up 6-5, Southern Idaho tied the game in the bottom of the seventh inning and pushed the winning run across in their half of the 8thinning. Yavapai got one runner on in the top of the ninth but failed to move the runner. 

Over Torres and Gunnar Bundrick each had two hits for the Roughriders. Carlos Viera was 1 for 3 with 2 runs batted in.

In the second game, Southern Nevada scored 10 unanswered runs in the first two innings. YC scored two runs in the fifth inning but CSN answered with 3 runs in the 6th inning. YC added one more run in the seventh inning.

Alex Isola was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s.

YC continues play on Saturday facing Salt Lake Community College in the first game of the day and Okanagan University in the final game of the day.
