Yavapai College jumps into soccer.


Yavapai College Soccer Coaching Clinic will take place Wednesday, July 17 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on the Prescott Campus (Building 19, Room 215).  No registration is required for this free event.  Learn soccer from the 7-time National Champions!  All levels of coaching experience welcomed.  Topics include team management, developing technique and skill, tactics and strategy, attacking and defending set plays and laws of the game.  Come meet Yavapai’s first and only head soccer coach Mike Pantalione.


Members of the 2019 Yavapai College Soccer Team will conduct two free youth soccer clinics—Saturday, August 10 at Mountain Valley Park in Prescott Valley and Saturday, August 17 at Ken Lindley Field in Prescott.  Clinics take place from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.

Boys and girls ages 5-15 are eligible to participate. No registration is required. If possible, participants should bring their own soccer ball. All participants will receive a special soccer souvenir gift.  Come meet the 2019 Roughriders prior to their season opener!


The 31st season of Yavapai College Soccer will kick off with seven matches during the month of August.  

Included are three pre-season scrimmages against four-year schools, August 10, 14, 17.  

The season and home opener will take place on Thursday, August 22 versus South Mountain Community College at Mountain Valley Park in Prescott Valley with kickoff slated for 3:00 p.m.  

The Prescott home opener is scheduled for Saturday, August 24 against Otero Junior College from La Junta, Colorado at Ken Lindley Field starting at 6:00 p.m.  

The Roughriders are 323-19-5 all-time at their home venues. 

 In addition to the usual conference foes, the Roughriders will face the College of Southern Nevada in Henderson on September 3 and meet Western Texas College in Albuquerque, New Mexico on September 26.  

The Yavapai College homecoming weekend activities will include an intriguing match against the defending national champions, Pima Community College, on October 19 at Ken Lindley Field with a special start time of 3:00 p.m.  

Yavapai has defeated Pima 63 times, a program high against any opponent. 

The 2019 schedule marks the return of the NJCAA National Tournament to Tyler, Texas where the Roughriders captured three of their seven national championships.  In 2020, Yavapai College will host the 60th NJCAA National Soccer Tournament.
