It started with a hit batter, followed by an error, to open the door in extra innings for the Badgers, as Prescott picked up a road win over the Tolleson Wolverines 8-4.
Tolleson trimmed the lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the inning, on a walk, followed by two Badger errors, scored two, without a Wolverine hit in the inning.
Prescott took a 4-2 lead when Brea Christopherson singled and scored on a ground ball to second by Evelyn Morales.
The Wolverines tied the game in the bottom of the fourth. Once again, a walk and an error proved costly as both players scored. A RBI triple by Josette Valdez was the lone hit in the inning.
Goose eggs were the norm the next three full innnings, till the Badger bats came alive in the extra frame.
Ashlynn Uvila was hit on a 2-0 pitch, followed by Caeden McKelvey benefitting from an error on the Wolverines' third baseman. A one out single by Kendall Schwartz scored Uvila, and McKelvey for a 6-4 lead. After Schwartz was called out at second, Carly Ross walked, and Brea Christopherson singled. Evelyn Morales singled in Ross and Christopherson, for a four run advantage.
Fran Larson came out and had a one-two-three inning to end the game. Larson pitched a complete game, allowing one earned run, three hits, six strikeouts and six walks. Tolleson with the loss drops to (12-12) on the season.
The Badgers (19-9) will travel to Tempe, to play McClintock, on Monday, at 3:45pm.
