Badger Swim Teams Do Well in Three-Way Match

The men’s team finished first, and the ladies notched second place against Goldwater Bulldogs and the Desert Edge Scorpions. 

The Badger Boys swimming team finished first while the Badger girls swimming squad finished second on a good day at the pool on Thursday at the Prescott YMCA against the Goldwater Bulldogs and the Desert Edge Scorpions.

The Badger Boys swimming team finished first in eight of eleven matches on the day with Harris Temple coming in first three times finishing with 1:53 in the 200 Medly Relay, :59 in the 50 Free and 5:35.37 in the 500 free.  Meanwhile, Tate Bassett and Paul Kinach each won a race twice with Bassett taking the 200IM with a time of 2:25 and the 100 back finishing at 1:06 while Kinach rocketed to a :24 time in the 50 free and a 1:15 mark in the 100 breast. 

The Badger Boys also finished second six times, third place in five races and did not place any lower than fourth, which was reached once. 

 

The Goldwater Bulldogs finished first three times while the Desert Edge Scorpions were shutout of any first or second place finishes. 

 

The Bulldog Boys finished second five times, came in third four times, finished fourth in four races and came in fifth twice.

The Scorpions finished in third once, fourth in three races, fifth in four matches and sixth twice.

It was a fantastic day at the pool for the Desert Edge girls swimming team as they took first place in seven of eleven races to win the match over the Badgers, who finished second, and the Bulldogs who came in third. 

 

The Badger girls swimming team came in first four times with Lacy Ingallina winning two races with a time of 6:25 in the 500 free and 1:24 in the 100 breast. 

 

The squad also finished second in six races, twice in third place and fourth place while adding three fifth place marks.

 

Desert Edge finished second in four races, third in eight races, fourth place in two races and one sixth place finish.

 

Finally, the Bulldogs finished second and third once, placed fourth in four races, fifth place in two and came in sixth in three races.

 

Next up for the Badgers will be another three-team matchup as AZ College Prep and Thunderbird visit the Prescott YMCA on Thursday, September 29th at 4:00pm which is also the last home swim for the team and senior night.
