The Prescott Badgers sweep Coconino Panthers in volleyball.

PRESCOTT- After losing a couple of matches over the weekend, the Badgers jumped back at home sweeping the Coconino Panthers in three sets.

The Badgers built sizeable leads in all three sets taking at least a ten-point advantage in each.

“It was definitely good to see them come out here and take control of the match and continue to keep control throughout the entire match,” said Badgers coach Josiah Ramirez. “One thing that we have been working on in practice is discipline and sticking to a game plan. That’s one thing that they definitely did in this match is stick to a game plan.”

The ten-point advantages were built by going on a five-point streak five times during the duration of the match.

“We know we can’t give up ever,” said Alex Koehler after the win. “We just have to keep pushing no matter what and never let down.”

The win was important for the Badgers as this was the second victory against a tough Coconino team (19-10-1, 5-3 section) who is just one spot behind Prescott High School in the 4A Grand Canyon standings.

“It’s very important because it’s a tough team,” said Koehler. “Tonight we really came together….just worked really hard.”

Ramirez said he is keeping the team’s focus to one match at a time as the Badgers(15-8, 7-1 section) prepare for their next matchup at home on Tuesday, October 18th against the Mingus Marauders (3-11, 2-6 section).
