3-time national champion coach will be new offensive coordinator

The Prescott Badgers have an addition to their coaching staff. Prescott Head football coach Cody Collett announced that the Badger football program will be getting a new offensive coordinator. Joe Kersting, who brings an amazing resume with him. He will join a staff that will be looking to build on a (7-4) season in 2018, that included the first state playoff berth since 2012.

Collett, who was the offensive coordinator last season said, "We are very excited to announce NJCAA Hall of Famer and coaching legend Joe Kersting will be joining our staff at PHS as the Offensive Coordinator. Coach Kersting brings a wealth of knowledge  and our players will benefit greatly from being coached by one of the finest coaches in America at any level. We are excited to get to work."

Kersting had this to say about his experience. "I was the head coach at Glendale Community College for sixteen years and an assistant for five. I spent three years at Deer Valley High and one at Arizona Christian University. Prior to my years at GCC, I assisted at University of Arizona and NAU." The new Badger offensive coordinator added, "I’m excited about the opportunity to work with Coach Collett and the Badgers. Coaching is a vehicle for helping young people develop into their potential. I’m a big believer in “Growth Mindset” where anyone can improve with passion and hard work. I plan to bring that approach when working with our students."

Kersting claimed the National Junior College Athletic Association Championships in 1998, and 2005. Glendale also won the championship in 2000, with Kersting returning to the program as an offensive coordinator, after a one year stint as defensive backs coach at NAU. His record is also quite impressive at 115-43-2. Throughout his career at Glendale, Kersting's teams won 14 conference championships and played in 14 bowl games. Kersting last coached at Arizona Christian University in 2016.
