Chivara's Goal Puts Prescott In Finals

Badgers will face #1 Salpointe Catholic for championship

Bryant Chivara's goal with 3:12 left in the second half lifted the Prescott Badgers to a 1-0 win over Catalina Foothills, on Saturday afternoon at Williams Field High School.

Prescott, the #6 seed, upset #3 Cortez by winning 5-3 in overtime penalty kicks, after the game was tied at 4 in regulation. The Badgers knocked off Walden Grove 3-1 at home in the opening round. Salpointe Catholic opened up with a 6-0 win over Deer Valley, followed by a 9-0 win over Amphitheater, before getting past #4 Flagstaff by a score of 4-1 today. It was the first playoff goal allowed by the lAncers in three games.

The Badgers (14-3-1) will face the #1 seeded Salpointe Catholic Lancers (15-5-2), in Division 4A championship. The championship game will be played on Tuesday at Williams Field High School. Start time is 5pm.
