In their second meeting of the week, the Prescott Badgers fought their way back from an ealry three run deficit to even the season series with the Lee Williams Volunteers in an exciting 4-3 at PHS Thursday afternoon.

Prescott spotted Lee Williams a three run lead in the top of the first inning, but starter Jake Schulz settled down and was in control throughout most of his six plus innings of work. "The first inning was a little rough, but after that I was settled in," said Jake Schulz on his pitching performance. "It was a huge team effort and we had a lot of enegy on the bench. We had a good week of practice which after the loss on Monday got us ready for today."

The Volunteers were cruising behind starter Michael Bathhauer till Prescott touched him for one in the third.

The Badgers scored three runs to take the lead in the fourth. Korey Schwartz led off with a huge towering shot to left center for a triple. Ray Chairez singled to right to score Schwartz, making it 3-2. Ashton Hubbs laid down a bunt allowing Chairez to scamper from first to third on the heads up play. Ethan Pena put the ball in play to score Chairez to tie the game at three. Rhett Pearce pounded a double that hit the base of the fence in left field. Jacob Police hit a shot that the Lee Williams shortstop had to circle under what seemed like forever. The ball eventually hit the ground as Pearce scoredd what turned out to be the winning run.

Meanwhile, Schulz was making magic on the hill. His best trick came with one out in the sixth. Justin Talk hit a bullet, that Schulz flagged down, then quickly throwed to third to double off the runner Dylan Peterson to end the inning.

Lee Williams final at bat went quickly as Schulz picked up two outs.  Korey Schwartz came in and threw just one pitch to get the final out.

Three Badgers had a pair of hits in the game. Ray Chairez, Korey Schwartz, and Jacob Police. Jake Schulz belted a triple, and Rhett Pearce had a double.

The Badgers will host Buckeye in a non-region game today at 3pm.
