Badger pitcher Ray Chairez was solid from start to finish, pitching a five hit complete game shutout over the Bradshaw Mountain Bears, in 7-0 win in windy Prescott Valley last night.

The Badgers went up 1-0 in the top of the first when Jacob Police led off with a triple and scored on a wild pitch. Prescott added three more in the second when Ethan Pena belted a two run triple, and it was 3-0. Police ground out to second scoring Pena to make it 4-0.

In the fourth, Ray Chairez doubled and scored on a single by Ethan Pena to increase the lead to 5-0.

The Badgers added a little icing on the cake with a two run homer over the right centerfield fence by Jake Schulz, scoring Slater Krupnick who had singled earlier.

Prescott (7-1) in Grand Canyon Region and (11-8) overall, will host Bradshaw Mountain on Thursday at 3pm.

Varsity Softball

The Bradshaw Mountain Bears beat the Prescott Badgers 12-0 at Prescott High School.

Jacie Hambrick struck out 17 in tossing a five hit shutout. Hambrick also had two hits, scored twice and had an RBI.

Caitlynn Neal had three hits including two doubles. Madisen Duryea had a pair of hits including a home run and three RBIs.

Makayla Reyes was perfect at the plate with a double and two singles. Dana Seavey and Tessa Eppele each had a single.

Hannah Irvine started in the circle, going into the fifth inning, allowing four earned runs and striking out four. Fran Larson finished up the fifth allowing two earned runs. Makayla Reyes finished up the final two innings allowing three earned runs and striking out two.

Prescott (0-8) in Grand Canyon Region and (5-13) overall will visit the Bears in a rematch on Thursday at 3:45pm.

The Badgers suffered a home loss last night to the Millennium Tigers. Prescott drops to (1-1) in the 5A Phoenix Region and (8-3) overall, while Millennium imporoves to (4-0) and (11-1).
