Prescott falls 5-0 in semifinals

Prescott tennis coach Sterling Fetty knew it was going to be tough to get past #2 Catalina Foothills Falcons after the Badgers quarterfinal win over #6 Thunderbird. Fetty said, "They are going to be really tough. They don't make many errors, so you have to play your very best to beat them." The Badgers found this out first hand Friday afternoon, as Falcons swept Prescott 5-0 in singles competition, at the AIA Division II Girls Tennis Championships in Glendale.

Great news for Prescott is that every player will be back next season. "We have all underclassmen, so we should be even stronger next year. That could give us the edge we need to make it to the championship," said Fetty.  The Badger's #1 singles player Ava Andrews will be a sophomore. The #2 through #5 players, Sierra McDonald, Heidi Madsen, Abby Stoecker, Geneva Raber, will all be seniors, and #6 Riley Smith will be a junior. Prescott ends great season at (15-2), with a regular season loss to #1 Notre Dame Prep, and the loss today to #2 Catalina Foothills, both of whom will play for the championship.
