The Prescott Badgers opened up 2020 in dominating fashion, with an 11-0 win over the Greenway Demons, at Prescott High School.
Coach Paul Campuzano said, “The girls came out and controlled the game, moving the ball side to side, and up and down the field. Alexa Sell and Katie Kasun really kept Greenway defense on their heels by tirelessly running at them. They really controlled the pace of the game and kept us in control of the game.”
The Badgers built a 6-0 lead in the first half with 17 shots on goal.
Emma Alvarez put Prescott up early, followed by a pair of goals by Ellie Magnett.
Lily Jensen and Hailey Mayhan also had goals. One goal (non-credited), was scored after being deflected by a Greenway player on a corner pass from Kyla Reed.
Prescott picked up right where they left off in the second half. A pair of goals by Sawyer Magnett, along with goals by Lily Jensen and Emma Alvarez made the score 10-0.
Macy VanWormer scored her very first varsity goal closing out the scoring for the Badgers.
Along with all the goals came assists by Lily Jensen with 2, Nicole Raiss, Kari and Katie Kasun each had one. Emma Alvarez, Lily Jensen, and Sawyer Magnett were the players that had two goals each.
Greenway drops to (0-4) and will host Glendale on Thursday.
Prescott (6-0-1) will host Poston Butte on Friday at 5pm.

The Badgers settled for a 3-3 tie at Greenway, Tuesday night.
Prescott (2-4-1) will face Thunderbird in Phoenix at 6pm next Tuesday.
