Roughriders Soccer Scores Three Goals In Route to Second Win In A Row

The Yavapai College Roughriders soccer team won their second game in a row Saturday, September 23rd, on the road against Chandler-Gilbert Community College 3-1.

Yavapai College opened the scoring in the 16th minute on a goal from Alexander Guadron, assisted by Jose Perez Flores. The Roughriders would add their second goal of the night ten minutes later on a score from Will Baynham, assisted by John Kanner.

Three minutes past halftime, Yavapai College sophomore attacker Carlo Quesada would add another goal to the Yavapai College score on Flores’ second assist of the night.

An unassisted goal by Jaime Arellano would notch the only score for Chandler-Gilbert in the 78th minute as Roughrider sophomore goalkeeper Justin Motzkus spent the entire ninety minutes in goal saving four of five shots.

The Roughriders (10-1-2, 8-1-2 ACCAC) continues ACCAC action on the road against Glendale Community College Tuesday, September 26th, at 7:00 pm.
