Coyotes Practice At Tim's, Delight Fans Old and Young

05 October 2011

Coyotes practice one last time at Tim's Toyota Center.

About 150 spectators came to Tim's Toyota Center Tuesday morning, to watch the Coyotes, a National Hockey League team. This was the third day that the Coyotes were in town, holding practices, playing golf and handing out hundreds of autographs.

The Coyotes announced an affiliation agreement with the Sundogs on September 1, signalling their intention of formalizing the relationship between the two teams.

“When we’ve worked as an affiliate with the Coyotes it’s always been positive for both organizations,” Sundogs head coach and Director of Hockey Operations Marco Pietroniro said.  “David Schlemko is a great example of why an affiliation between the Coyotes and the Sundogs is exciting.  We were proud to have him here and we’re pleased to assist the Coyotes even further in the future.”

Tuesday's practice ended around 11:45 AM. But, some of the players, including Captain Shane Doan stopped to sign a few more autographs, interacting cheerfully with the fans. Doan lived up to his well-deserved reputation of making sure everyone, especially the kids, got their memorabilia autographed before leaving the arena at Tim's Toyota Center.

By the end, even the dogs walked away with signed apparel.

The Coyotes open their season with an away game on Saturday, October 8 against the San Jose Sharks. The Sundogs' first game is on October 21, vs. the Bucks.
