PRESCOTT VALLEY – The Northern Arizona Suns, along with members of the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce and Town Council, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Prescott Valley Event Center this afternoon to reveal the team’s first-ever playing court.

The new hardwood, a tribute to the unique and beautiful location the team now calls home, features the words “Northern Arizona” painted in orange along each baseline, and the dark purple apron surrounding the court features accents of orange throughout the design. The NAZ Suns primary logo, which resembles the sunburst from the Phoenix Suns original logo, is prominently featured at center court. The NAZ Suns website and social media handles are also included along the sideline, encouraging fans to engage with the team via the digital landscape. An image of the court design is below and attached, along with photos from today’s ribbon cutting ceremony.

Manufactured by Connor Sports in Amasa, Michigan, the court was first played on during the 2016 NCAA Men’s Tournament in Anaheim, California. Following the NCAA Tournament, the court was sanded, stained and repainted over the course of several weeks to be prepared for use by the NAZ Suns. The court was then prepped for its trek from Idaho Falls, where it was being stored after the tournament, to its new home at the Prescott Valley Event Center.

In addition to the court reveal, the team has also officially launched its website, Fans are now able to visit the site for ticket information and exclusive content about the team and organization.

Following the court reveal and website launch this afternoon, the NAZ Suns will host their inaugural Select-a-Seat Open House at the Prescott Valley Event Center on Saturday, July 16. The Open House, which will be open to the public, will be held from 1 – 4 p.m.

In addition to getting their first look at the NAZ Suns playing court, community members and fans will have the unique opportunity to personally select their seat location for the upcoming 2016-17 season. Those in attendance on Saturday can also enjoy a number of family-friendly activities, including inflatables, face painting, selfie stations and more.

The NAZ Suns are excited to bring affordable, family-friendly entertainment and quality basketball to Northern Arizona.  A variety of season ticket memberships have been created with the intention to maximize each viewing experience, with packages starting as low as $8 per game for the full season.

In April 2016, the Phoenix Suns announced the purchase and relocation of its NBA Development League affiliate to Prescott Valley, where the team will begin play during the 2016-17 season. The Northern Arizona Suns will play a total of 24 home games at the Prescott Valley Event Center, as part of a record 22-team league. Fans in northern Arizona will have an opportunity to witness NBA-level talent on a nightly basis, as evidenced by the fact that 39% of NBA rosters at the end for the 2015-16 regular season were comprised of players with D-League experience.
