Epic Rides Tuesday announced Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC) as the Official Kids' Fun Ride Sponsor for the 2018 Whiskey Off-Road mountain bike event in Prescott, Arizona on April 27-29.
In place of an entry fee, YRMC will donate $10 for each participating child to Prevent Child Abuse Arizona.
The Kids' Fun Ride will take place on Sunday April 29, starting on Montezuma Street in the heart of Whiskey Row at 9a and concluding at 10:15a. There are two Kids' Fun Ride options depending on age and skill level. The 1 Proof is recommended for trikes, push bikes and kids new to riding, completing multiple laps on a half-mile closed course in downtown Prescott. For more experienced riders, the 3 Proof is an out-and-back ride to Granite Creek Park via the Greenway Trail, with an Aid Station at the park's pump track. Parents and chaperones are welcome to ride or walk along in both events, and helmets are required for everyone.
In addition to the Kids’ Fun Ride YRMC will host a free bike decorating party at their booth in the Bike + Gear expo on Saturday at 10:30am (following the amateur startlines).
"Sponsoring the Kids’ Fun Ride is an important part of the year-long celebration of Yavapai Regional Medical Center’s seventy-fifth anniversary,” states Ken Boush, Director of Marketing and Communications at YRMC. “The Whiskey Off-Road is a first-class event and we are thrilled to promote healthy, family-centered activities while also supporting a great cause like Prevent Child Abuse Arizona. I hope to see our friends and neighbors along with our extended YRMC family at this great event.”
Celebrating 75 years in the local Prescott community, the mission of YRMC is to provide comprehensive, high-quality healthcare consistent with community needs. YRMC envisions an environment where the organization works with patients and their families to provide peace of mind and peace of heart, as well as physical cure and comfort, bringing together the relationship between body, mind and the human spirit.
In its 15th running, the Whiskey Off-Road is the opening event in the four-event Epic Rides Off-Road series. Off-Road Series event registration opened on January 1 at epicrides.com. All registrants receive an event t-shirt, limited-edition poster & decal, a temporary course profile tattoo, goodie bag and finisher’s award. The growing popularity of the Off-Road Series has resulted in the events filling to capacity in advance, so participants are encouraged to register as early as possible.
